Terrebonne Parish Government systems remain offline following cyber security incident
Terrebonne Parish took systems offline after discovering suspicious activity on September 30. An October 5 update said restoration was continuing while essential government operations remained available. The identity of any attacker, ransomware involvement and data-loss scope were not established.
What this adds: New 2026 public-sector case; dated follow-up distinguishes continued essential operations from incomplete systems restoration.
Exclusive: Confidential informants exposed in Louisiana sheriff’s office hack
EBRSO initially described a quickly contained intrusion with limited data loss. In August 2025, Straight Arrow News reported reviewing a much larger leaked collection containing sensitive investigative records. This follow-up materially expands the documented exposure beyond the initial agency account.
What this adds: August 4, 2025 investigation reports examination of the leaked dataset and challenges the initial characterization of limited exposure.
Acadian Ambulance seeks dismissal of data breach lawsuit
Acadian confirmed unauthorized network access during June 19–21, 2024, potentially exposing patient identifiers and medical information. Later reporting placed the notified population near 2.9 million. A May 2025 report described litigation over the breach and Acadian's request for dismissal.
What this adds: May 2, 2025 litigation follow-up provides a dated consequence beyond the original listing. Use the official June access window, despite news shorthand calling this a July breach.
Give command staff a national view of reported cybercrime and use the ransomware recommendations to review backups, privileged access, and response preparation.
Use it with your team
Start with the ransomware discussion on printed pages 14–16, then use the report to frame a short leadership briefing.
Complaint data undercounts total activity. Reported ransomware losses generally exclude downtime, lost business, wages, files, equipment, and third-party remediation; national data is not a Louisiana agency rate.
Compare agency priorities with public-administration attack patterns, including exploited vulnerabilities, ransomware, errors, and misuse of privileged access.

Read the Public Administration section with the methodology caveats before using the findings to support patching, identity, data-handling, and monitoring decisions.
The dataset reflects contributors, reporting requirements, scrutiny, and sample sizes. It is not a census or a Louisiana law-enforcement prevalence estimate.
Explore HHS breach notices, SEC disclosures, news discovery, public breach metadata, and incident-linked vulnerability context. Connection status and actual check times are shown for each source.
